On the Job Attendant Care

Provided by our Life Launch team

The final step in Oregon’s employment services spectrum, On the Job Attendant Care (OTJAC), is designed to help people maintain long-term job success. Unlike Job Coaching, which focuses on learning job-specific tasks, Life Launch DSPs ensure people receive ongoing support for other essential needs, such as communication, physical assistance, and personal care, enabling them to thrive in their chosen careers.
At PCL, we recognize the importance of this service and are committed to filling the growing need for specialized, long-term job support. If new challenges arise, we can seamlessly reengage Job Coaches to provide additional training or assistance, ensuring no barriers stand in the way of success at work.

We help people by:

Supporting effective communication between the person and their coworkers or supervisors. This includes help to understand instructions, help to communicate questions or needs, etc.

Providing physical assistance, such as help with mobility or workplace equipment.

Recognizing when additional help is needed and connecting them with that help.

Encouraging people to engage fully in their workplace and promoting a sense of belonging while meeting their needs, such as meal breaks, using transportation, managing their time, and fostering positive relationships with coworkers.

Assisting with personal care needs, ensuring people are comfortable and confident throughout the workday.

Through specialized training and relationship-building, our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) help people navigate their workday with ease and confidence to ensure sustained success. We know that finding and keeping the right job can transform lives. We’re here to walk alongside you, offering the support, resources, and the encouragement you need to achieve your employment goals.
