We believe that everyone deserves to live in a place they call home, somewhere that reflects who they are, what they love, and how they want to live. Sometimes, the funding available doesn’t stretch far enough to cover what is needed to simply live safely, comfortably, and in a place that works for them. That’s where the My Home, My Life Fund comes in.
The fund exists because there is often a gap between what public funding covers, what a person can pay, and what it truly costs to live a meaningful life. Whether it’s the cost of rent, utilities, an unexpected home repair, accessibility upgrades like ramps or widened doorways, or things that make a house feel like a home, like a swing set or items for a companion pet, My Home, My Life bridges that gap.
Sometimes the fund helps cover one-time expenses to achieve a specific goal, like moving into a first apartment, going to camp, living alone or with chosen housemates in a safe and stable home, or a meaningful experience such as visiting a loved one for the last time or fulfilling a lifelong dream, like swimming in warm ocean waters.
These may seem like small things, but they often mean the difference between just surviving and truly thriving. It helps people move from uncertainty to security, from “almost there” to “I did it,” from dreaming of a good life to living one.
Because how people live matters.
